Can someone help me writing a summary of a book?

Choosing a book
You are going to read a novel written by an English speaking writer of your own choice. It has to be fiction and that is why biographies/ autobiographies, diaries, fact books a.s.o. are not suitable. Only original books, not translations or abridged versions are accepted. And no books for children or youngsters!
The novel should be at least 150 pages long. You will find some suggestions in the link “Suggested Novels”, but note that it might be difficult to find these novels and you have to start reading right away.
Reading logs

You are expected to analyse the novel, write what you think about certain things that are asked in each Reading log.
Divide the novel into 4 parts and start reading. After each part you will write a reading log (for more information please, see the insructions on writing reading logs). You should write not less than 200 words in each log apart from the quotations. All your thoughts in reading logs should be supported by quotations from the novel you read. Please, follow the instructions for writing quotations.
Quotations
You are expected to quote the novel as often as you can.
A quotation could look like this:
 “The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in.” (Tuesdays with Morrie, Mitch Albom, Sphere, 2012, p.52)

            “There are threads that help you find your way back, and there are threads that intend to bring you back.” (Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit, Jeanette Winterson, Vintage, 2001, p.155)
 Use quotation marks and write the title of the book, the name of the author, where and when the book was published, as well as which page the quotation comes from.

Since you are quoting one and the same book, you only need to write the page where the quotation comes from starting with the second one.

Book talk
You are not going to write a book review or report, but you are going to give a book talk when you are expected to give a short summary of the novel, tell shortly about the characters and conflicts in the book, comment on the language used by the author as well as tell if you reccomend to read this book or not and why.

Text Analysis

New vocabulary

Please, choose at least 80 new words from the novel which you want to learn. Write a list, explain the words in English or translate them and in that case write examples with these words explaining the meaning. Study them! The list is to be submitted in Fronter.
