According to the Worldwide Poultry Production (2016), in 2014, about 3,380 million chickens and birds were slaughtered in Brazil, the homeland of the largest poultry-producing companies in the world. Most of us chicken consumers do not know enough information about the chicken products that we buy in stores. How are they sourced? What are they doing to the environment? What are they doing to the economy? And what are they doing to our society? We must know more about what we are consuming and what we are digesting in our bodies. The chicken that we buy in stores is mostly produced in countries like Brazil, the United States, Thailand, and China (Worldwide Poultry Production, 2016). The amount of chicken products annually made in these countries is a huge cause for worry. We must know the dark truth of these worldwide chicken companies. In this essay, there will be a discussion on economic damages, environmental damages, and social damages that retail chicken production is causing to our world.

Firstly, the nutrition that is fed to chicken causes immense concern. The suffering and death of chicken is … which is a very upsetting and concerning statistic.

Secondly, the amount of chicken products that are produced regularly by food companies is insane. In addition to the tremendous amount of land used to reproduce these chickens and to keep them in shelter is concerning.

Lastly, the other negative impacts that result from local chicken production is the hormonal imbalance that it is causing to people, especially children and adolescents. Also, the health problems and obesity rates that come from consuming retail chicken products must be taken much seriously.
