Discussion # 4 : Challenges of the interview of the ARNP initial post due this week
Listed below are the three most challenging interview questions you may experience during the interview process. To fully prepare the student for his or her future interview, please provide a clear and concise answer as to how you as the APRN will answer each interview question.
What is your biggest Weakness?
My biggest weakness is not being able to delegate responsibility at times because I want to be in charge of the situation at the moment specially when taking care of patients that I am responsible for. However, I have worked on this weakness by making myself more aware and being more mindful about the tasks I can delegate to a nurse or a medical assistant which I have improved tremendously.
Describe how you resolved conflict with a co-worker or patient?
Previously in my career history I have had certain situations where a coworker and I have not agreed on how a certain case should be handled. However, I like to solve situations like these by speaking to the person that I am having a disagreement with after we move forward with a decision that is made for the patients benefit. I believe that talking to the person you have a disagreement with calm and respectful is a way of coming to a conclusion about the disagreement and also helps both parties see where they went wrong.
Tell me about yourself?
I am known for being ambitious, successful, intelligent, professional, quick learner and easygoing 26-year-old women. This year will mark 5 years of my nursing career and I am so happy with where I am today not only on my career but as a person.
On your initial threat and peer response develops this topic and include current scholarly articles as your reference.

What is your biggest weakness?
My biggest weakness a nurse practitioner is to learn how to manage my time, I would say that I am very keen on patient’s information to attend to them effectively, anything that I do, and I take time when dealing with it to avoid mistakes or errors. But it cost time as I only attend few patients wherein health care center; we have many patients to attend on a daily service. I have discovered that working as a team with my fellow nurses saves time, and more patients are treated. I also find it easier working alone as I have no one to blame, but, in some cases, there is a need for teamwork to make work easier and fast. During duty allocation, I make sure we are two or more.
Describe how you resolved a conflict with a co-worker or patient?
Working as a nurse, one cannot alone, so chances of conflicting among ourselves are there, and we work in shifts. There are night shifts and day shifts. Some find it hard to work night shifts, especially if a young mother. At work, we had some conflict with my co-worker, a young mother, and was supposed to report by 7 am, and we were on duty, but she reported an hour later. Her duties were to take fills to the doctor for the patients booked on that day by 7.30. The doctor was not happy with the delay, and he confronted us. I was not pleased about it, and I decided to ask her why she didn’t communicate, but she was rude.so I requested her close friend to talk to her about It, and we found that she was having family issues that could not allow her to report that early, so we requested her to shift from morning to evening, which was good with her condition that moment.

Discussion # 4:
What is your biggest Weakness?
My greatest weakness is the fact that I have trouble saying no to my co-workers and end up having more tasks than I can manage. To avoid burning out and being stressed out, I must find a solution to that weakness. Although I have been working on being better at managing and organizing my tasks, not being able to say No remain my greatest challenge.
Describe how you resolved conflict with a co-worker or patient?
Too often in the field of nursing co-workers may end up picking up a quarrel with each other, but one thing is clear they always find a way to resolve the issue. Not too long ago I had a disagreement with a co-worker, and I was determined to solve it by being a good listener and openly talk about the problem. Communication is a great way to find common ground, therefore it is important to always use it as a tool to solve conflict.
Tell me about yourself?
I am an extremely hard working and enthusiastic person who is constantly learning and find ways to make the world a better place. With 4 years of experience in retail and providing customer service, I have developed robust problem-solving skills, honed my ability to become a great nurse. While you may not consider yourself “close” to your colleagues, the facts are that many of us spend more hours a week with the people we work with than with our own family and friends. For this reason, sometimes we can become incredibly close to our colleagues, after all, given how much there is to relate to the workplace, work friends often make better friends (Sodeify, & Habibpour, 2020). But the other side is that we can also engage in brutal fighting, disputes and conflicts with people who share the space in the cabin with us – conflicts that haunt us long after we leave. Disagreements and tensions in the workplace are inevitable — no matter how much we love our careers, the office can be a stressful and competitive place, and it doesn’t always bring out the best in everyone. First of all, there are ears everywhere, and you will look unprofessional if someone hears you misspeak badly from a colleague. If problems have been brewing between you and a colleague for some time, don’t wait until you both feel completely hostile to each other (Sodeify, & Habibpour, 2020). Addressing the problem earlier will prevent it from becoming an even more serious problem, especially if the problem actually becomes a misunderstanding or a relatively small problem. Don’t let the problem marinate any longer than necessary; plan a face-to-face meeting in a private environment with your co-worker and block too much time so that both can express where you come from. You probably won’t leave the meeting accordingly. But resolving workplace conflicts doesn’t completely change a person’s mind (Haunch, & Spilsbury, 2020). And if you enter the room with an open mind, you are much more likely to find common ground with your colleague, and thus significantly disarm your conflict.I am a registered nurse since 2011 and I graduated from the University of Sacred Heart in Puerto Rico. I’m also a Cuban doctor. As a nurse I have worked in several hospitals in Miami such as: Westchester General Hospital, Pan-American Hospital later called Metropolitan Hospital of Miami, Larkin Community Hospital, and Jackson Memorial South Center. Since 2014 I have been working at the Coral Gables Hospital in the Telemetry Unit which was converted in the last year in a COVID unit.
