You will solve real world problems using mathematical skills.

In this Assignment, you will be assessed based on the following outcome:
GEL-2.03: Solve real-world problems using mathematics.
In this Assignment, you will act as a manager with budget authority for a new IT project that is being developed for your department.
Part 1: Initial Plan Budget
You are a manager with budget authority for a new IT project that is being developed for your department. The project is being developed internally by the company IT staff. You are developing a budget for the project. In this scenario, you will be in integrating information systems and information technology to progress an organization toward their organizational objectives. Consider the information given to determine how much capital you will need to raise to complete this project successfully. Your goal is determining the budget needed to complete the project within the stated timeline and maintain the system through the full 5-year maintenance contract. Note that the first month of maintenance for the contract starts simultaneously with the start of the project. In this case, you have wisely decided to add a 10% strategic reserve to the development phase of the project.
There are some calculations related to this project. Answer the following 10 questions. You can use Microsoft® Excel® to do this work, and/or provide your answers in Microsoft® Word®; however, you must show your answers and detailed calculations. Your work must be free of grammatical errors.
Given:
● IT Project Timeline: 1 January 2019–31 March 2020
● 3 weeks of holiday time is planned off during this timeline
● Do not forget the concept of a leap year if it is appropriate
● Assume vacation weeks are not paid for the purpose of this problem, as vacation pay is paid and allocated by a separate corporate budget funding source different from the IT Project funding source
● If total weeks are computed as a non-whole number of weeks, round to the nearest week
● Carry out items to the thousands place for fractions (for example 1/3 = 0.333) prior to continuing calculations, then round up or down as needed to whole numbers for final dollar values
● 40-hour work week is the standard contracted work week
● No overtime is allowed to keep costs down
● 10 managers
● 100 programmers and staff
● Manager salary is $50 per hour
● Programmers and staff salary is $35 per hour
● Systems planning cost is $100K
● System development cost is $1.3M
● System fielding cost is $300K
● System maintenance (5-year contract, amortized, payments begin at project start and are paid
monthly) = $5.0M
● Strategic reserve, when (if) applied to the timeline, should also be applied to the maintenance costs during the timeframe of the timeline. However, maintenance costs beyond the timeline have been negotiated as a firm fixed price contract and do not require the use of strategic reserve in addition to the negotiated price.
Answer the following questions and show your work:
1. How many work weeks are in the project timeline, where work will actually occur?
2. How much money does the team cost per hour?
3. How much money does the team cost per week?
4. How much money does the team cost for the duration of the IT project?
5. Remembering that maintenance is amortized, that payments begin during the first month
of the project, and that all other system costs are assigned to the project, what is the total
systems cost through the timeline completion on 31 March 2020?
6. What is the total project cost through completion on 31 March 2020?
7. After project completion on 31 March 2020, what will be the remainder cost for
maintenance that will still need to be budgeted and managed?
8. Forecasting a budget with no strategic reserve, what should the project cost per month
be
for the budget during the project timeline?
9. With the addition of a 10% strategic reserve, what should the project cost per month be
for the budget during the project timeline?
10. Considering that you decide to budget using the strategic reserve, and you need to budget for the entire maintenance cost, what is the total amount of capital you will need to raise to complete the project successfully during the timeline and then maintain the system through the full 5-year maintenance contract, noting that the first month of maintenance for the contract starts simultaneously with the start of the project?

Running Head: TYPES OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS 1
TYPES OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS 2
Types of Information Systems
Purdue University Global
MT300 Management of Information Systems
April 4, 2020
Information system and information is very vital on how business perform. The importance of information system is to provide much needed data for business to analysis on itself and other companies that are on the same industry. The fundamentals of information is to help on both business analysis life cycle and business project life cycle, human development in information and test of presence of strength and weaknesses on its operation.
In the world market where business strive to achieve its goal on competitive market, influence of climate factors such as recession, inflation, competition and unpredictable market due to political changes which hinders the companies from achieving its goal. Companies have to look on was that they will have competitive advantage over others (Torelli, 2017). One among the strategy the company acquires is adoption of information system within the company. Information system provides essential data that the company need to reduce the business workload and help on business to comply with various mandatory regulations that have set in place.
Through adoption of information system, it reduces workload on storing information on papers and manually. By adopting information system, businesses make use of highly sophisticated database that contain every information you will ever imagine about the business. The essence of information system in not only storing the business information but also analyzing it, updating information therefore provide much needed current information for company to make both current and future solutions. Furthermore, the information system can be used to transfer information from both inside and outside environmental information therefore allowing the company to make advanced decisions on the treats and opportunities it’s facing from both internal and external environment.
Information system helps on decision making. For a company to make long term decisions, the business management team uses variety of information to keep their business plan updated and formulate strategic plan on how to counter the challenges the company is facing. This information can be obtained from variety of external sources such as Reuters or Bloomberg which provide much needed financial and the state of the economy. The information on analysis and comparison trend, help the business to make quality and strategic decisions.
Information system helps on business process by developing a system that add value to the company. For instance, the business can integrate the information system with its chain of manufacturing to ensure that the product produced meet the required standards therefore eliminating unnecessary wastage. Also, information system can be used to ensure that only authorized employee accesses certain areas in order to avoid unauthorized accesses on company premises which might led the business losing its operational secrets to competitors.
Also, information system eliminates the repetitive tasks and ensuring the employees are concentrating on their area of expertise. This ensures high quality production, on time and better projecting future business plans.
On the other hand, business relies on information technology to carry out its daily functions. These functions include telecommunication, payment, and even getting loans and other financial investment. Information technology enables business to function without even have a strategic office since business can operate from home, do online advertisements, online purchases and on time delivery. Information technology enables business to place orders of materials they need on time and check online on the latest technology that facilitates doing business easier.
For example, banks are using mobile banking system instead of having physical bank branches all over. This an individual can access loans, pay loans or settle complains without being physical presences on the business premises. This put individual business miles ahead of other business on the same industry who has not embraced use of information technology therefore, offering the business better competitive advantage.

I have concerns with your assignment.
You still have not addressed the assignment. You are not relating this to your start-up business. How are you integrating the information and gaining a competitive advantage. This is from the feedback on the previous assignment.

Additionally:
You appear to be doing patch writing. Copying directly from others and then changing a few words in what has been copied. Your assignment has a relatively high similarity score and would be even higher with the changed words added.
Your references are not in correct APA format and very similar to the attached article. They are not listed alphabetically by the authors last name. Also several of your sources are textbooks of over 500 pages and cover basically the same material as our text book. If you are using something as a source, I would assume that you have read it.
