For this first Learning Activity you will need your book, your workbook (found on the Navigate site if you bought the book/workbook combo), and 2 scholarly sources of information (journals, professionally vetted internet material, or other scholarly publications). Requirements for Submission of Assignments that require formal written work:
You will be using the Assignment Tool within each module in Canvas to upload all your written assignments. These assignments include your Learning Activities, Reflections, and some of your PSMJ entries. You are required to use APA style for your formal writing assignments. Omitting or incorrectly formatting APA elements will result in significant point deductions. For each formal writing assignment you will need to include:
• Title page
• Appropriate content formatting for the body of the paper including a Running head on the title page, title header throughout the paper, section headers.
• Correctly formatted in-text citations for all sources, and a reference page.
• Including an Abstract is optional. If you plan to go on to graduate school, I recommend completing an Abstract for the practice.
• Files submitted in MS Word format (doc. or docx. files)
In addition to using APA style for formal writing assignments, you are also to compose your formal writing assignments in a professional writing style and tone. Formal, correct grammar, syntax, spelling, and style are required. Points will be awarded for the correct use of all of these elements and deducted if omitted. American Psychological Association (APA) style is what is used in the Department of Health Studies. All assignments and activities completed for your course should use APA style and format. Please refer to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th ed., for examples.

You are going to choose and use three (3) worksheets in your workbook to first, identify some of your personal stressors, and second, evaluate how well you think these worksheets work for you. Notice how this assignment ties into your PSMJ2? Consider how you might use this assignment to raise your personal awareness about the stressor you have picked to focus on for PSMJ2.

Part of the purpose of this activity is for you to start learning more about yourself and what you can do to better care for yourself. The second purpose of the activity is for you to start practicing skills to critically assess resources for yourself.
Instructions:
You will be writing a short, formal paper (500 words or more) following the guidelines stated in “How to do well on assignments” and “APA information” for formatting information. In this paper, you can do a question-answer format, but with this option of including the questions, the word count will be increased if you do total words with questions or you can count the words without the listed questions portion.
You still need to follow APA by making sure you cite within the paper the correct source, include a reference page, including a cover page, body format, header, etc. All the tools learned with APA book!
This assignment will include the following:
a) why did you choose to complete this exercise?
b) what you hoped to find out by completing this exercise?
c) Did the results provide you with information/insight/understanding you expected?
d) Describe what your feelings were as you worked through each of the exercises. Discuss your reactions to the results.
3. Combine your experience/reactions to the exercises and respond to the following prompts:
a) What were the benefits you gained from the exercises? If there weren’t benefits — then talk about this.
b) Will you or will not put the results into action? and why/why not?
c) How will you apply the results of these exercises to your personal stress management?
