This final writing assignment allows you to present an analysis of the best reasoning on each side of your issue. In the process, you will get to demonstrate some of the key skills you have learned during this course. In particular, you will demonstrate the ability to create high-quality arguments on both sides of an issue, to support your reasoning with scholarly sources, and to provide a fair analysis of the strength of the reasoning on each side. Make sure to incorporate any relevant feedback you got from the instructor on your previous writing assignments. For an example of how to complete this paper, take a look at the

paper.
Your paper must include the following sections, clearly labeled:
Introduce readers to your topic; include a brief preview of what you will accomplish in this paper. (approximately 150 words)
Present the best argument on one side of the issue. (approximately 150 words)
Express your argument in standard form, with the premises listed one by one above the conclusion.
Support the first argument as well as you can, using academic sources to demonstrate the truth of key premises. You may also choose to clarify the meaning of key premises and to explain how your reasoning supports the conclusion (approximately 250 words).
Present the best argument on the other side of the issue (approximately 150 words).
Express your argument in standard form.
Support the opposing argument as well as you can, using academic sources to demonstrate the truth of key premises. You are welcome as well to clarify the meaning of premises and/or to explain the reasoning further (approximately 250 words).
Evaluate the quality of each argument, addressing whether key premises are true and whether the conclusion logically follows from them.
Analyze arguments for any fallacies committed or for any biases that may influence either side. Do you feel that one argument makes a much stronger case than the other and why? (There is no need to “take sides,” only to assess the quality of the arguments.)
Support your analysis with scholarly sources.
Provide a brief conclusion and summary of your issue and how it can best be addressed by critical thinkers.

Is The ‘Cry It Out’ Method Good For Babies?
Introduction
The main topic is baby sleep training. Sleeping for babies can be a little difficult and so many parents get frustrated while trying to get their children to sleep. There are so many ways through which parents get their children to bed. Some children, however, cry a lot when it comes to going to bed which leaves the parent wondering what to do in such a situation, (Smith, 2016). Some parents prefer coming up with ways to make them stop but some leave them to cry it out which leaves us with the question, “Is the ‘Cry it Out’ Method Good for Babies?”
Controversy in the cry out method
One side of the issue
The cry it out method is by far the proven way to go by almost 80% of parents. Unless there are special cases, most people have agreed that this is quite the way to go. Most children finally end up having a good night’s sleep and napping without any difficulties.
Argument
The argument here is that the cry it out method works and should be adopted always when a child has difficulties with falling asleep, (Smith, 2016). A certain woman explains how she used to run every single time one of her kids started crying to avoid waking her twins up. When she saw a pediatrician, she was advised to use one of the sleeping methods. She explains that the first day for her was very stressful and she ended up not sleeping well in the process. However, by the end of around four days, all her children had adapted to a good sleeping routine.
Quality of reasoning
.
When looking at the premise which states that the cry it out method works, the argument has brought it out well. There is no single instance that a parent has used it only for him or her to get disappointed. In all cases the method works, (Smith, 2016). Also, the article brings out the fact that there is a couple of cries out methods meaning that different ones can work for different people. Not all of them work for the same people. This also leads us to the perfect conclusion of the CIO being the method that all parents adapt.it might be true that the cry out method can be stressful to both the baby and the parent at first but at the end of the day it works out well. Hence, every parent should learn how to let their children train themselves how to fall asleep by themselves although not entirely. Using the time intervals is perfect because it helps you train the child to calm themselves down but also it makes you be there to support them between certain time intervals which shows that the child is not doing this entirely by themselves but they are getting some help.
The other side of the issue
While so many parents have reported being using the cry out method quite often, some still say that it can be harmful to the child, (Smith, 2016). According to this article, the cry it out method is a source of debate among pediatricians, psychologists and parents with each one of them having different views.
Argument
The main argument on this side is that it is not all the time that parents should consider the cry it out method because it does not always work and might also lead to very serious damages to the child. This method, although it works in so many instances can bring about brain damages to the child. This, however, is an issue that has brought about a very hot debate because some doctors argue that if at all there was a chance that the distress brought about by crying caused brain issues, all children would suffer from it because they cry a lot.
Quality of reasoning
The quality of reasoning in this paper is high. The paper considers all possibilities of what can be used to substitute the cry it out method. It does not work for all children which is understandable. There are especially cases of children less than three months old. These children are normally in their early stages of needing their parent’s attention and affection. Also, they need occasional feeding and crying to them might mean a couple of things regardless of what time it is. Ignoring this child when they are crying can make the child have some stress-related disorders at a very early age which is associated with them being a lot more subtle, (Smith, 2016). The researcher supports well the premise of the argument by stating that there are other ways of dealing with a child as far as napping is concerned. These ways are like coming up with a napping routine that will help the child throughout the day and night which supports the conclusion of the argument that indeed the cry it out method is not the only way to go.
Evaluation of Arguments
The resource that I used was a peer-reviewed article which proved to be a lot more helpful compared to a popular resource. The quality of these two papers cannot be compared because the information that I got from the peer-reviewed article was a lot more analyzed compared to what I could have acquired from popular resources. Also, it used more words related to the research and the topic and was not generalizing anything, (
Cendejas
, May, 2014). With scholarly sources, it is much more detailed compared to non-scholarly sources. Most of the scholarly sources give explanations of research, how it happened, they attach evidence and even give their findings. Also, the research in peer-reviewed articles considers the method that the authors of the article used to get to the conclusion. It brings out the premise well and the argument behind the conclusion. This is unlike non-scholarly sources that do not go into depth about the content of the paper and the language used is not professional. These articles are not what a scholar would prefer for research in their studies, (Cendejas, May, 2014). The target audience of scholarly sources is researchers and students who are interested in learning while popular resources are written to inform the public of what is going on. Most popular resources have the straw man fallacy because they are mostly inefficient.
Conclusion
In the future, I will be sure to use a peer-reviewed activity since I have learned that they have a lot more information, they are professional and have reliable analysis. Moreover, I learned that these articles are useful in different circumstances, (Cendejas, May, 2014). If it is just for information then a popular article will do but if it is for studies a peer-reviewed article will be the best.
