Watch the video below: Dear Teacher: Heartfelt Advice for Teachers from Students. After watching the video on what it is like to experience the world as a student with a learning disability, create an informational pamphlet for regular education classroom teachers that will assist them in understanding the special needs of the students in their classrooms.

Use the Internet and other resources to create an informational pamphlet for regular classroom

teachers that will assist them in understanding their special needs students. Your pamphlet must

address a minimum of 4 distinct areas of learning disabilities/challenges faced by students.

Information to include in your brochure (checklist for EACH disability addressed):

The characteristics of the disability, and how the child with the disability views the

learning situations in a classroom

Recommended classroom management techniques

Instructional accommodations and/or pedagogical approaches, etc.

Additional resources the educator may wish to consult for further information (minimum

of 3 per disability)

Pamphlet is visually appealing with appropriate and well-designed used of graphics and

images

Include information you think an educator may want/need to know about dealing with a

classroom full of students with differing needs. Remember to present the information in readerfriendly

language (i.e., avoid educational “jargon”).
