Prior to reading this DQ, please read the PA1 and understand what the assignment is asking you to complete. Once you understand the PA1, please continue to the paragraph below to complete DQ1.

Using the Library Information Resource Network (LIRN), JSTOR, or any other electronic journal database, research one (1) peer-reviewed article that can be used to answer your upcoming PA1. Your discussion should summarize the article in such a way that it can justify any arguments you may present in your PA1 and should be different than the abstract. To summarize means to use your own words and not to copy and paste from the article.

Depending on which electronic database you use, you should see a

 selection for your article.  In addition, there should be a variety of articles summarized and as such, students should have different articles summarized.  Your summary MUST include ALL of the following (include every item in the bullet point list below, or you will not receive full credit):

1. Clearly state what the article is about and its purpose.

2. How the article and/or authors support your arguments

3. Most important aspects of the article

4. Any findings and conclusions

5. Your response should be approximately 200 to 300 words in length

6. Include the article’s abstract in your posting (your summary should be original) – remember to identify and cite it as a direct quote

PA1:

Using your textbook and other sources, find three choices or behaviors in your life that are influenced by diffusion. How has diffusion changed over the past several decades? Are there still barriers to diffusion?

Present your ideas in a two-pronged format: 

1. First, a two-page essay discussing the topic and questions above with credit given in APA format for all sources used, scholarly or not. 

2. Secondly, you will create a one-page infographic that will show the progression of the three choices from their inception to the current role in your life. There are several free infographic creator programs available online if you would like to try something other than the standard word-processing program options.

PA1:

Summary:

For this professional assignment, you will watch a documentary or film based on a real event that reflects historical and political themes relevant to international relations to further your understanding of international relations and provide a thoughtful response to it.

You must pay close attention to the ways in which foreign policy decisions are made and strategized, keeping in mind the political, economic, and historical context of the political event and how the theories of international relations figure into the themes of the film. Then write the film response. The aim of this paper is for you to assess an international policy, analyze the status of implementation, and formulate (or construct) alternative recommendations for policy and practitioner audiences that could have been made but were not made at the time. For the purposes of writing this paper, it may be useful to imagine yourself in the role of a policy analyst for a government organization, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The film may be independent or commercial. You have the option to choose from the following films, but you are not limited to:

 1. Hotel Rwanda 

2. Dr. Strangelove 

3. Argo 

4. Kandahar Submit your one- to two-page written film response to GAP.
