Importance of Information Governance and Information Security
Information governance ensures the efficient use of resources to help the organization achieve the set goals. Implementing information governance and information security helps minimize costs as data can be stored and utilized when necessary (Isa et al., 2019). It helps remove the information that has no value to the organization and the storage media and systems no longer required. Therefore, it is essential because it increases the agility and profitability of the business. It helps to understand the value of information held in the information system, making it easier for the employees to access it when and where required (Isa et al., 2019). As a result of this, it becomes easier for the employees to manage their work schedules from their homes. This is because the system will ensure that the people access sufficient information to perform their responsibilities. Information is used as the main factor that empowers society. The growth of information in companies has increased data leakage and misuse (Isa et al., 2019). Therefore, information governance and information security ensure that the organization takes advantage of the security perspectives and prevents future problems. The company will be able to enhance transparency and accountability even when the employees are working from home. Information governance and information security enhance secured information exchange. The main aim is to provide a seamless working experience to the employees while at the same time protecting data from falling into the wrong hands. Therefore, implementing these two aspects in the company will lead to the successful delivery of information security and increase data quality. Efficient management of information in the organization will ensure trustworthiness (Isa et al., 2019). The employees when working from home will be assured that they are receiving accurate information at all the time. This will help the company to achieve the set goals and objectives.
Business Analytics Tools Benefits
Business analytics tools allow the management to make informed decisions. It enhances the clarity of statistical facts to guide the choices made about the future growth and evaluates the long-term effects of competition and market variables (Ghasemaghaei et al., 2018). As a manager, using a business analytics tool will make it easier to understand the dynamics that are currently present in the business. It will also help identify the shifts taking place to manage the risks (Ghasemaghaei et al., 2018). Embracing it will ensure that inventory management and pricing issues are made using systematic statistical reasoning and hence improving their efficiency, profits, and risk management. This would mean an improvement in the business’s performance and hence the long-term strategies in the market.
The adoption of business analytics tools helps the manager to accumulate and analyze the information regarding the customers. This will help match the customers with their product needs (Ghasemaghaei et al., 2018). As a result, the manager will decide on the production levels necessary to maximize profits and the products that should have high or lower production.
The manager can enjoy high operational efficiency levels because there is sufficient data upon which decisions are made. However, the most critical aspect is the increased customer satisfaction because when the manager gets the customer needs accurately, then the right product is provided. This increases the profits and the revenues.Relying on data is profitable for the organization. According to Ghasemaghaei et al., such businesses are likely to attract more customers than the others and retain them (2018). They are twenty-three times more to acquire new customers and nineteen times to retain them and make a good profit. Therefore, it will enhance the visibility into the available data and make decisions as per the company goals and objectives for the manager to use a business analytical tool.
IT Strategy
An IT strategy is an action plan that is established to achieve a particular goal in the organization. It is set within the context of the changing technological environment (Nabelsi& Gagnon, 2017). It is an integral part of the business’s success as it enhances the implementation of scalable technology. Failure to strategize can lead to the use of outdated systems that are unable to meet the business’s needs. Therefore, the primary reason for adopting IT strategy in organizations is to reduce the operational problems, increase the economics of scale and maximize value from technology (Nabelsi& Gagnon, 2017). Therefore, the IT strategy is set to ensure that the organization meets the objectives and competition’s external challenges. It is a source of competitive advantage when it is well developed.
E-commerce is experiencing high levels of performance due to augmented technologies. Artificial intelligence is one of the technologies that have grown to impact this industry (Davenport et al., 2020). However, there will be better performance in the sales and marketing when using AI in the future. This is because it will influence all aspects, including customer behaviors and sales. This is because it will enhance the communication with the customers. The tele-conversations will play a significant role in consumer satisfaction. The use of AI will make it possible to provide real-time responses and hence preventing delays. Secondly, using AI, it will be possible to predict what the customer wants. This means that it will be possible to ship the goods to the customers without placing orders. Therefore, with these developments, marketing will focus more on trends than the physical methods of reaching the consumers (Davenport et al., 2020). However, this may be a problem when the customer discovers their interactions are with bots, hence attracting negative responses. This technology can tie to the IT strategy by first determining its alignment to the organizational goals and objectives.
Failure in ERP Implementations
ERP provides accurate, and well-organized data to the managers for efficient decision making. It is achieved by organizing and integrating the information systems to be effective and efficient (Saade et al., 2017). The companies implement ERP to better flow information in all dimensions, from the consumers to the suppliers. The businesses also need to re-engineer the performance and enhance their competitive advantages. This is because the business environment is highly competitive and is curbed with financial losses without proper management (Saade et al., 2017). Therefore, using ERP, the business can make informed future decisions. It is also the best approach to managing other processes such as the supply chain, risk management, and procurement. It makes the processes smooth and hence prevents inconveniences. Figure 2 shows the reasons why ERP implementation fails.

Implementation of ERP is coupled with challenges. Some businesses cannot reap these implementations’ full benefits due to poor cultural and environmental aspects (Saade et al., 2017). The employees support is essential in enhancing the success in the implementation of the ERP. However, the management has a role to play by ensuring the employees’ attitudes are positive by providing environmental context. It is the measures taken within the business that determine the acceptability of the ERP. The management should also provide the strategic changes necessary in the pre-implementation stage to ensure success. This would mean that the employees are less resistant to the proposed changes. Communication strategies and the morale of the team can determine the success of the ERP. Proper communication ensures that the information can flow in all directions (Saade et al., 2017). Therefore, the employees can speak about the issues affecting them. They are also able to receive responses from the top management. However, without this, the employees’ morale is lowered, and they are unlikely to work on the successful implementation of ERP.
