Assignment Instructions

In a Word document, please compose the following as it relates to your research question:

1. Research Topic
2. Research Problem
3. Research Purpose
4. Research Objectives/Aims
5. Research Question(s)
6. Research Hypothesises*
8. Select Theoretical Framework: write a brief summary about the theoretical framework and why it is relevant to your research topic. (We will return to writing about this in more detail in upcoming weeks.)

*Numbers 1 through 6 should be complete sentences/paragraphs with references as appropriate.

To assist in completing this week’s assignment here are some recommendations:

1: Course readings and published literature should be cited throughout.

2: Review published EBP projects (i.e MEDSurg Nursing publishes a lot of PI and EBP) to see how they are formulated.

3: Total length will be between 3-6 pages.

In a Word document, please compose the following as it relates to your research question:

1. Research Topic: this is a concise evidence-based review of your topic/population/setting.
2. Research Problem: this is a concise ‘funnel like’ arguement for your practice change. You want to start with the larger picture (national/state) impact then progress to your specific location/sample. You also want to identify the gap and need for practice change that you are proposing. All supported with evidence. 
3. Research Purpose: this is your PICO question in statement format.. 
4. Research Objectives/Aims: these are 1-3 goals of your project which should be derivied from your problem and purpose.
5. Research Question(s): this is your PICO in question format.
6. Research Hypothesises*: this is your prediction and can be directional or non-directional.

Select Theoretical Framework: write a brief summary about the theoretical framework and why it is relevant to your research topic. (We will return to writing about this in more detail in upcoming weeks.)

Research Topic: Parents and education for children with special needs

Research Question: How do parents contribute to the education of a special needs child. What goes into educating these children ?
