1. The basic argument that Heglar is making is that everyone should be involved in preventing climate change. Whether people do small things or large things, the author wants to show their point on how they wanted everyone to try to make a change. The author also points out that even though small changes do help in some ways, these changes will still not solove the climate crisis we have now in our hands. We must fight against the government and il companies on the topic of using too many fossil fuels. The author shows that these oil companies and governments are giding the fact that they are the issue by stating the we must make those individual changes, as if it si all our individual fault.

2. I completely agree with Heglar’s statements. The issue on the Enviroment has been one that has been discussed by variou people without a real big change happening. I believe that a huge movement needs to be started and people must fight against government and oil companies. I agreed with Heglar when they stated that it is important for the U.S. as the largest emission producing country in the world to work very hard to lower the pollution for other countries that might get the worst after-effects of this. I loved the author’s thoughts that stated that each individual needs to do some type of change to spark a movement against those oil companies and the government to make a significant change for our future.

1.Discussion on Recycling matter M2:L4

The United States is the world’s second largest transmitter, recently it fell from first place. Our historical contribution is even more atrocious. The United States is responsible for more than a third of the carbon pollution that has warmed our planet today more than any other single nation. For us as to say that our personal actions are too foolish to matter when people died in Cyclone Idai in Mozambique, a country whose carbon footprint is barely visible next to ours, is moral bankruptcy of the highest order. At the same time, the more we focus on individual action and neglect systemic change, the more we’re just sweeping leaves on a windy day. So while personal actions can be meaningful points, they can also be dangerous stopping points.

Biodiversity plays an intergral role in the availability of our fundamental resources; high rate species extinction threatens our economy, input of food supplies, and tourism buisnesses.

The main questions I am aiming to answer in my essay start with: How is biodiversity important to a thriving planet? I plan on mentioning how it provides essential resources such as food, and medicinal materials, supports tourism and recreation, and it’s direct correlation to our economy. The next question I plan on answering is: What are the dangers of the high rate of species extinction that the planet is facing? Which I will answer by explaining the affects decling populations and how they intervene with our survival. Lastly: What are the proposed solutions to this problem and how effective will they be? In this portion, I will be mentioning the benefits of activism, tourism, and legislation. I want to cause the reader to realize that biodiversity, despite being relativly neglected, is just as important as climate change to our survival. I am unsure of whether or not to mention the solutions in the thesis, although I believe for now it is best to leave it out. Please give me your best advice.

3. M2:L6 Discussion on addressing Counterarguments.

I know lots of people do not agree with my argument or don’t believe the dangers of consumerism and it’s effect to our world. It seems like that because their mindset is focus on their everyday life. They are worried about their jobs, house, bills, payments, fuel and money to make for themselves and their love ones. Currently people are more worried about the pandemic, social distancing, and wearing a mask to prevent the spread of COVID-19. 
At the moment what people are worried about is valid. Though in my opinion they need to also focus on what comes after the pandemic. The consumption of earth is a serious problem and it may look like we are doing fine but we are not. Places where there use to be forests is now a mall, apartment or factories. Oil and gas are getting harder to find and it is found their is a likely chance of that ecosystem being destroyed. Consumerism does play a big part in climate change. For example, the resources we use for our machine make the carbon dioxide that slowly heat our world. We have less than a decade to make a change before it’s too late.

“What do sea turtles eat? Unfortunately, plastic bags?” is the article that I read and will
use as my primary focus to discuss how sea turtles see trash ads food. As stated here,
“Research suggests that 52% of the world’s turtles have eaten plastic waste and saw plastic
as algae or jelly fish. The reasons are simple: a floating plastic bag can look like a lot of
jellyfish, algae, or other species that make up a large component of the sea turtles’ diets.
After reading this I can tell you this is really harming these turtles and it shows how much
people do not care about the environment. Since this is happening many animals other than
sea turtles are getting harmed, making the ocean an unsafe living environment for all in it.
