1) GROUP 3—-I do not think that men can do things more naturally than women, nor can women do things more naturally than men. I believe anyone, regardless of gender, can accomplish what they set their mind to. For example, in Group 3’s result section, baking cookies is often seen as a feminine thing to do whereas cooking hamburgers on a grill is viewed as masculine. Although these seem like gender-stereotypical norms imposed by society, i believe that men can bake just as well and as often as women and women can use the grill just like any other man. I am opposed of the scrutiny in gender roles of the past, as I am a firm believer that everyone is equal and can all fulfill various roles despite being of a different sex.

I enjoyed reading Group 3’s paper, I believe it tackled the issues of gender-stereotyped norms and shows how differences in beliefs and cultures affect other people’s beliefs into what is socially acceptable and what is not. I also liked their visual representation of the answers from the survey they made into a pie chart, I believe it made the paper easier to understand.

2) GROUP 4—-Excellent presentation… I thought that the layout was nice and it was also really pretty to look at which kept me engaged! I do think that there is a small lime when it comes to chores depending on age. I know that growing up in my house, as you got older the chores became more complex. My sister and I have always been around the same age so we had to do similar chores, however my brother, being the youngest and 7 years apart from me, doesn’t have as complex chores. His chores consisted of only taking out the trash and sweeping occasionally. I think my parents did it like this to show that no matter what we were responsible for taking care of the house. However, by having an age onto certain chores, they showed us that as you get older you have more of a responsibility. I wouldn’t know how to do a lot of things coming into college if our household system didn’t work that way!
