Caltech University is one of the leading universities in the United States and across the world. The institution is taking the initiative to make sure that it attracts numerous students with a goal to increase graduates. The organization pushes for numerous conclusive researches and following from the professors. The move makes the university a better institution in the practical sciences that include physics and engineering because of the opportunities to experiment. The institution is small and has an improved science faculty that makes it important for students seeking to pursue the practical sciences thus a better destination for college graduates (Forest & Kinser, 2012). The institution is smaller and only affords approximately 3000 students. The lower intake guarantees proper quality but it is difficult to keep up with the demand from the numerous students seeking to get into the institution.

Caltech University external challenges include the competition from other leading institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology that offers similar courses. The existence of the competition makes it a challenge for the university to attract numerous students and maintain their position. The organization has some strict standards that limit the enrollment of students thus making it a challenge to keep up with the competition. In addition, the organization involves numerous practical researches and field experiences that require huge financial investments and since the organization depends on donations limits its prosperity. The organization does not depend on enrollment for income thus making it a challenge for it to raise capital to keep up with the expensive researches. Caltech is having a problem with increasing their size and enrollment size which limits their capability to keep producing graduates in the country to help sustain with the demands on the job market.
