If you are not sure which report you would like to focus on, feel free to download all the links and review them prior to making your selection. You will base your complete report on your response to the scenario you select. Part I is the report template, and Part II is a reflection of what you learned in this assignment. Note: Both Parts (I and II) of this assignment are contained in the scenario documents. You do not need to add anything to the template other than your responses.

Part I:

• Submit a completed report template that contains accurate information based on the scenario you selected.

Part II: 

• Write a 300–350 word, double-spaced reflection on what you learned in this assignment. Use acceptable grammar, sentence structure, and writing conventions for all report fields that require written statements or descriptions of locations, events, and in your reflection.
• After you have completed Parts I and II, add your name to the file name and re-save it on your computer. Then, upload it to Blackboard.

Scenario1 – Report of Theft of Property from a vehicle

Business name: Walt’s Pizza Palace, in the Rosewood Valley Shopping Center

Location: 1158 Madison Street, Anytown, AL, 12345 (Alabama County)

Property Reported Stolen: two computers from owner’s vehicle

Summary: Owner, Walt Peters, called Anytown Police on 12/01/2019 to report two laptop computers stolen from his blue 2013 Jeep Wrangler. You are dispatched to the location to investigate. The Jeep was parked in the alley behind the business location and was locked. Walt states that he was placing trash by the dumpster in the alley when he saw two men, approximately 25-30 years old tampering with his vehicle. As he approached, the suspects fled the scene. Upon closer inspection, Walt noticed the plastic rear window of the Jeep had been slashed open and the computers had been removed from the back seat.

Summary: In a smoke-filled bar, Bubba Hurt, a bar patron, begins an argument with his girlfriend Tamara Summer. The argument escalates, alarming others in the bar. The bartender Rodney Redrum (owner) asks both Bubba and Tamara to “chill out”. Bubba, who is quite intoxicated, throws his beer bottle at Rodney Redrum striking and breaking a sign that stated “trust me you can dance” – Vodka. Rodney Redrum approached Bubba Hurt and Bubba hits Rodney in the face with his fist.

Police are called but Bubba had fled the scene.

Scenario3 – Pre-Sentence Investigation Report

Summary: Bubba Hurt was arrested for Assault and Criminal Mischief and Booked into the Alabama County Jail. Bubba was released on Bond and given a return court date for his Arraignment before a Judge. The Police Report was sent to the District Attorney’s Office for review. Assistant District Attorney Buzz Lockup reviewed the reports and witness statements and determined to charge Bubba Hurt with Aggravated Assault and Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree.

At the Arraignment Judge Hammer informs Bubba of the charges and the maximum penalty if convicted (found guilty). Bubba states to Judge Hammer that he cannot afford an attorney, so the Judge assigns Public Defender Scott Law and the case was sent to the Grand Jury for review. After the Grand Jury reviewed Bubba’s case the Jury found there was enough evidence to Indict Bubba for both the Aggravated Assault and Criminal Mischief Charges. A trial date was set for Bubba’s case.
