Overview:
For this assignment, you will select five folktales (one from each of the five categories) and two fables
to evaluate, seven (7) stories total, and then answer a set of questions. There are 14 questions
included, each worth approximately 7 points.
You are encouraged (as always) to use actual hard copies of the books. However, for your
convenience, you may use the options provided in the unit.
Instructions:
• First, select (5) folktales to evaluate – one from each of the following categories:
o Cumulative
o Pourquoi
o Beast Tale
o Wonder Tale
o Realistic Tale
• Next, review Aesop’s Fables provided in the unit and select two (2) fables to evaluate.
• Then, in the assignment link in Blackboard, answer the following questions using complete
sentences for each folktale you chose:
o Provide the name of the folktale and category, author, country of origin, and a brief
description of the story.
o Describe the morals and cultural values of the folktale.
