In order to develop a solid rationale to support the need for your program, you will conduct a needs assessment. This needs assessment will be based largely on secondary data you collect from existing statistics and the scientific literature. This annotated bibliography serves as a way for you to collect, catalog, and review the secondary data in preparation for your needs assessment. I am writing a project based on Obesity among age group 10 to 18. So an annotated bibliography based on obesity. More details is in the attachment.

Annotated Bibliography
10 total points
What is an Annotated Bibliography? An annotated bibliography is a list of citations to books,
articles, and other resources. Each citation is followed by a brief descriptive and evaluative
paragraph: the annotation. The purpose of the annotation is to inform the reader of the
relevance, accuracy, and quality of the sources cited and to help you organize your materials
prior to writing your research paper. Check out Purdue OWL for examples:
https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/614/03/ (review only the APA-style sample).
Requirements for Content:
For this part of the assignment, you will create an APA-style annotated bibliography containing
a minimum of ten credible sources published between 2013 and 2020.
Creating an annotated bibliography calls for the application of a variety of intellectual skills:
concise writing, succinct analysis, and informed library research. You will be reviewing scholarly
journal articles and other credible sources relevant to your selected topic. You will create
citations for these resources using APA format. You will write concise annotations that
summarize the central theme and scope of the articles. These annotations must be
approximately 100-150 words and include one or more sentences that:
1. Summarize the article in your own words. DO NOT copy and paste directly from the
abstract or article. This is always considered plagiarism!
2. Compare or contrast this work with others you have cited in this assignment
3. Discuss how this work relates to your selected topic
4. As you will be locating current health information, please note that your ten (minimum)
required credible sources must have been published between the years 2013-2020.
Requirements for Formatting:
• An APA-style title page must be included
• Citations must be alphabetized by the last name of the first author.
• Citations and annotations must be double-spaced (see APA-style sample at:
https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/614/03/
• Use 1” margins all around
• Use Times New Roman, Calibri or Arial 12-point font
Information about APA Style and Scholarly References:
For APA style, pay attention to the left-side menu (how to correctly cite in-text; formatting a
reference page, etc.) at this site: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/ Some

Healthiest Weight’s Stakeholders
Indiana State University
There are two types of stakeholders for the Healthiest Weight Organization:
A.
Primary Stakeholders
:
– Center for Disease and Prevention (CDC)- CDC is one of the major operating components of the Department of Health and Human Services. CDC not only gather data to help search for ways to prevent/control diseases but also they provide support for other organizations for the cause of improving/maintaining the people of the community’s health. CDC provided funds and training to HWO because HWO main focus is to reduce obesity in children which goal is similar to CDC which goal is to reduce obesity in the U.S all together. CDC helping smaller organizations like HWO will bring more awareness to the people and promote adults and children to healthier lifestyles which will reduce the rate of obesity.
B.
Secondary Stakeholders
:
– Early Care and Education (ECE) – This is an organization which which its primary goal is to help children in both their education and their health related issues. ECE is being helped by other organizations (like CDC) through funding, training, and technical assistance to carry out various activities to promote obesity prevention efforts. Healthiest Weight Florida (HWF) promotes physical activity and nutrition best practices in Early Care and Education (ECE) centers across the state. Most young children spend time in care outside of their home before attending elementary school, making the ECE setting a vital place to start obesity prevention efforts. Through the help of HWO, ECE can improve their practices that can help impact children and help them develop a foundation of healthy habits.
– Florida State University College of Medicine’s Center for Child Stress and Health- Toxic stress is a response that can occur when a child experiences strong, frequent, and/or prolonged adversity–such as physical or emotional abuse, chronic neglect, caregiver substance abuse or mental illness, exposure to violence, and/or the accumulated burdens of family economic hardship–without adequate adult support. This kind of prolonged activation of the stress response systems can disrupt the development of brain architecture and other organ systems, and increase the risk for developing chronic disease and cognitive impairment. Healthiest Weight Florida (HWF) is working with Florida State University College of Medicine’s Center for Child Stress and Health to raise awareness and provide resources to health care providers about toxic stress among school-aged children.
C.
Excluded Stakeholders
:
– Children- These are the primary targets for the Healthiest Weight Organization to reduce the rate of obesity in Florida. The children, after the programs, will take what they learned and bring awareness to other children and also promote healthy lifestyles practices.
– Communities in Florida- The people of Florida will be more aware of obesity in children and will take action to promote healthier eating and activities in school. They will also attempt to persuade children to continue these healthy practices in their homes.
HealthDisparity, Target Population, and Justification
I decided to do Obesity among the age group 10 – 18 in Orlando, Florida (or Florida in general if possible). Looking at the data form a valuable source, Florida is rank the 8th place in 2018 for the state with obese children and teens between the age group of 10 – 18. The obese rate went from 12.6% in 2016 to 17.8% in 2018 which is a 5.2% increase.
Need for Health Promotion Program
· Obesity is a avoidable disorder
· The number of children and teens visiting doctors because of obesity can be reduced
· Obesity can lead to other diseases/disorders like diabetes and CVD
· Lack of physical programs could be part of the caused for the increase obese rate
Goal
By implementing a health program, our goal is to reduce the obesity rate among the age group of 10 – 18 in Florida and to promote a healthier lifestyle for this particular age group.
Community Organization to Interview
Healthiest Weight – Florida Health http://www.healthiestweightflorida.com/
Rationale for the Organization
The Healthiest Weight community purpose is to make the people of Florida aware of any obesity issues and alarm the people what will happen if nothing is done about it. The community also promote different obesity/weight loss programs to help promote children, teens, and adults to change their lifestyle for a healthier one.
