You have recently been promoted to Health Services Manager at Three Mountains Regional Hospital, a small hospital located in a mid-size city in the Midwest. Three Mountains is a general medical and surgical facility with 400 beds. Last year there were approximately 62,000 emergency visits and 15,000 admissions. More than 6,000 outpatient and 10,000 inpatient surgeries were performed.

After the first series of training, your CEO decided that employees would benefit from an online self-check after completing the training. You are tasked with developing a PowerPoint presentation with a list of questions that ask about liability protections for the physicians and the facility. Correct answers should be provided in the notes so that employees can check their responses.

Please prepare a PowerPoint presentation (or feel free to use other shareable Webware/software that you prefer) with questions that check employee understanding about the liability protections for physicians and the facility.

Introduction
This display aims to show a list of questions about protections for the physicians and the facility.
Every question will be accompanied by a correct answer so that employees can check their responses.
This factor is essential because it will help employees to conduct an online self-check.
Ideally, these questions are supposed to check employee understanding about the liability protections for physicians and the facility.

Healthcare workers risk being liable of damages or losses due to errors that may occur in their practice. As a result, liability insurance cover protects them from paying thousands of dollars to compensate damages or losses.
I will come up with questions that address the liability protections for the physicians and the facility.

First, it is essential to acknowledge that transformation has improved medical care.

Liability risks due to technological advancement affect different healthcare stakeholders. Conferring with Keiffer, (2015), the health care system in many parts of the world is cost-constrained.
Increased cost has in turn reduced physicians as well as facilities reimbursement.
Nowadays it is impossible to shift the economic burden of rising malpractice to the public (Keiffer, 2015).
This factor has exerted pressure on hospitals increasing the risk of medical error.

New laws have gotten implemented in response to liability related issues. In case of any malpractice, hospitals can be held liable.
This issue gets deemed as negligence.
This problem happens when errors occur, and patients suffer harm.
Under such circumstances, physicians are held liable for errors.
This situation explains why it is important to have liability insurance coverage.

Errors do occur in medical facilities that sometimes result in fatal consequences.
As a result, it is adamant about protecting the insured in case the person suffers damages or injuries.
Medical coverage is necessary to an extent by law.
Medical workers may be answerable for the mistakes they make.
However, if a medical error occurs in the absence of insurance cover, then a medical worker may be required to pay for damages (Butler & Lostritto, 2015).
In other words, liability insurance is critical to health care employees because it protects them from financial responsibility.

Explain one severity of errors that faces physicians and health facilities
According to Levy, Mareiniss & Iacovelli, (2012), liability is often tied to critical errors like accidentally giving a patient overdose.
When this happens, patients are obligated by law to take the matter to court.
Looking at this issue, it makes it harder for physicians and other health workers to predict when they might be liable.
Given the scope of the matter, liability insurance reliefs physicians the pressure of lawsuits because they are covered even in situations of unexpected lawsuits.

The cost of liability protection varies from one place to another.
However, the law prescribes that every health care employee has to access liability insurance regardless of the premiums.
The ever-growing cost of medical premiums is shifting the risk of errors to physicians because patients are in most cases unable to access quality care.

Are there other benefits that physicians and health facilities enjoy from liability protection?
Yes Protection liability enhances physicians privacy.
Also, they can eliminate errors. The idea of liability protection can also get understood in terms of streamlining operations.
Physicians are expected to be responsible for matters of asset protection.
Physicians should keep information confidential unless instructed otherwise by a court of law.

How can a physician’s insurance carrier help them become better and reward their efforts to improve outcomes?
Insurance carriers can provide better physicians in some ways.
First, they know physicians who work to ensure patients safety.
For example, they know physicians who follow up on labs and have excellent communication habits with patients.
In line with Keiffer (2015), physicians who have those characteristics should get rewarded.
At the same time, they should look for tips on how to further lower risk.
