How would you describe your cultural competence after reading ‘introduction to cultural competence?
Cultural competence is a process that involves various steps when approaching various concepts of interest. In cultural training, there are also the training procedures where main issues arise from the target groups, such as the lack of specific strategies and skills that help in dealing with any indigenous context. Using the media article as a starting point, what is your understanding of indigenous Australian people’s relationship with criminal competence?
To my understanding of the information in the media article provided, I find that Australia’s indigenous individuals from the media information provided, then there is a noted negative and positive relationship of the indigenous people relationship with the criminal competence. The negative relationship is on the unfairness observed in some courts in dealing with some cases where there’s a noted plan of judging one side than the other. There is also discrimination in some communities in criminality cases where some specific groups of individuals are e said not to participate fully in court cases. For the positive relationship with the criminal competence, there are a noted reconciliation cases that are said to be not done through the dichotomous languages. Also, there is a positive relationship between those being favored by a particular case where they tend to show it for the favor to be done on them Singer, Judy, et, al, 2015 23 (6) Australian psychiatry 614-619.

These strategies include being patient strategy where according to the article, whenever there is patience between the individuals of the indigenous context, then understanding develop, which makes them work effectively with each other. Patience portrays traits of coping with most individual’s weaknesses and the strengths where one doesn’t disclose off any of the negative traits that might end bringing fights amongst the individuals. Another one is the transparency strategy which closely indicates much of the trust one has in another person. The article describes that there should be transparency in making plans for the future of the Australian environs’ indigenous individuals. It’s also displayed in the communication context and in dealing with the issues that need to be solved.
The article states that whenever somebody acts have no transparency, then there is no trust in his/her manner of dealing with the several issues being dealt with by the indigenous group. Another strategy is being trustworthy, which is the most arguable core element that governs the indigenous people’s relationship.
