Third year, I plan to apply for a supervisor position also work with my co-workers when they have any questions or concerns. The Fourth and fifth year, I will be recruiting new employees who are qualified for the position, if he or she does not have the experience like I did when I first started my job position, I will give them an opportunity by being well-trained properly and handle to handle different kinds of situation. My goal is to be a good role model for my employees and help the offenders to get back on track in life by doing home visits on the regular, drug testing frequently, making sure I will give factual information for the courts by keeping track of his/her records. I will give out resources for offender to go see such as schools, counseling, and jobs. If the offender does not have anywhere to stay I will contact the local Department of Social Services, these are all my goals which are to help people. I believe everyone deserves a chance in life, I want to make sure the community and citizens are safe. I hope everyone will enjoy reading my discussion, have a blessed day.

JGR200: The Power of People
Week 10 Discussion
Part 1: A Past Position
Top of Form
As the needs and goals of your team evolve, you will need to be flexible and able to adapt your team. You may have to fill vacant positions or realign to accomplish your goals. As you move forward, it’s important to fill the roles with the strengths you need and move people to where they perform best. Sometimes you will have to change your strategy, but not your people, so you can play to your strengths. Changing needs do not always require a change in members. It’s up to you to use each team member in the most effective way. This week, we learn how to lead a team to success using the talent one already have. Think about a past or present position you’ve held. Were you using all of your strengths and skills in that position? Were you given the opportunity to take on a new role to better utilize your strengths and skills? How did this affect your performance?
Note: To receive full credit, remember also to write 2 posts in the discussion: one original and a response to another student. Remember one or two sentences does not qualify as a substantive learning post for both original and peer responses. Show off what you have learned!

COLLAPSE

Hello professor and classmates. I can definitely align this week’s discussion with many personal experiences. Both in my personal life and professional I have experienced times when I had to make some adjustments to how I would perform just to meet my goals. For this week I will come from a different perspective than using another work story. I played softball from starting as a tee baller way back at the age of five. Then played softball for my school, traveling teams, and even all stars for ten consecutive seasons. I was a catcher and a decent hitter who could fill in playing a pretty mean right field. My favorite place was behind the plate though. I communicated great with the pitchers and the entire team as well as motivated us all. One year my favorite pitcher was severely injured and had to be out for an entire season just after three games in. I didn’t seem to give as well with two of the other pitchers. Our communication suffered and we simply didn’t play as well together. So for my team to meet our goals of winning games I had to leave the position I loved and play right field for many games so that the catcher who was able to get the job done could step in. We began winning games and playing much better fielding. It took knowing my weaknesses of communication with my other team mates to know that someone else needed to get us through. Sometimes even though it hurts in the beginning it’s all about the outcome. I felt awful stepping back but the other girl just had strength in an area I did not and therefore made the better option for getting wins.

Flexibility and agility is absolutely key for me to succeed in my field of choice. If I were to speak to a fellow peer about the importance of agility, I would start by listing just how much has changed even in the last 20 years. To be in technology, adaption and growth are the most essential parts of the job. Technology is every changing and having the ability to constantly grow and adapt with technology is the only way to survive.
Agility is what I have prided myself on most when learning more and more about technology. I have been interested in computers and technology since I was a little kid. And I have always been super interested in the intricacies of the inner workings of technology. I have been fortunate to have my grandfather work for IBM his entire life. I look forward to follow in his foot steps.
