– The order of the sub headers listed in the instructions is introduction, secondary data analysis, theory, primary data methodology. Findings have to come from your secondary data analysis section. There would be nothing in the findings that doesn’t come from the secondary data analysis section and it would match up better with the abstract. Some sentence structure issues. -10

-Citations: Reference page should be in alphabetical order—Adler would be first. Two journals missing vol. and issue number. -2

-Theory: need to apply the theory in your own words without secondary data analysis in the theory section and it is required to be a theory we covered in class. We covered a chapter that had “Conditioning Theory” but I don’t recall classical conditioning. Move all your journal analysis in the theory section to the secondary data analysis section. -3

Abstract

This paper seeks to outline the nitty-gritty that is associated with child spanking. Several research methods have been used; a couple of experiments have been administered to try and check the issues that come with spanking children. The questions that will be answered are the effects of spanking children. Are there any adverse effects that are associated with spanking children? What will an anti-spanking law bring into the USA societal environment? Methods that have been used to combine the information presented include the use of a survey. Results that were obtained were on both extremities to mean that the anti-spanking law resulted in negated results and positive results. The result achieved after the study instituted that the anti-spanking law should not be established for all age groups since the effects might be adverse to the behaviors of the youngsters.

Introduction

Creation of an anti-spanking law in the USA can be a good factor incorporated into the societal norms and, at the same time, can be harmful to the norms that are in society. This is because the children need to grow up under certain conditions to have the ability to become the best in the future, to become good parents, responsible, honest, polite, etc. In this paper, the discussion will be outlined on the creation of an anti-spanking rule. Society needs to come up with a law that forbids the spanking of the young general. In this research, there was various method used to get the information needed in order to come up with the best data results in the views of the people regarding the establishment of an anti-spankings law into the society to forbid the beating of children. This research constitutes the factors that affect the children, how they will react when exposed to beatings from young ages, the benefits that will emanate after getting spanked among other factors. The question to find answers is, will the creation of an anti-spanking law within our society help to raise levels of discipline, or this only brings adverse effects on the victim’s life?

Secondary Data Analysis

In the USA, the laws that stipulate that children should not be spanked depend on each state. However, there are many people that are opposing this law due to the fact that many children show a chain of immorality since they are not punished by the parents. Lee, Grogan-Kaylor, Lee, Ammari, Lu, & Davis-Kean (2020) states a case where a parent was in a public place with his young son, who showed a series of bad attitude towards other children and other adults. Additionally, the child caused a fuse when the father refused to buy him something that he found to be attractive. The observations the researcher made was that the parent did not spank the child at any instance. After surveying this case, the majority of the people said that the child behaved in this way because the parent did not punish him (Lee, et al. 2020).

Therefore, Lee, et al. (2020) says that it is a problem to state that the anti spank law in the USA should not be established due to how it will cause the children to grow up. In the case mentioned before, the young boy showed a lack of respect to the father, what about in the future when he is old enough. The probability of the child becoming aggressive to others is high. Thus, there is the need to put him in line with a little spank to show him that some of the things are not to be done how he thinks they should be done. This is what many people would argue, but they do not know that there is a higher correlation between being spanked as a child and being aggressive later than vice-verse.

The anti spank law may be established to curb the idea of parents spanking too much. Sociologist have stated that spanking children too much using bare palms would lead to the use of belts and paddles (Gershoff, et al. 2016). This will progress to be more severe as the parent will get even more fierce to the children, therefore, end up using, kick, punches, etc. The anti spank laws should be brought into society to curb such and help to avoid deaths that are caused by the parents beating up the children trying to correct a mistake and end up killing the child.

Also, the finding showed that anti spank laws sought to help reduce the intensity of corporal punishments among families and also institutions. A study showed that the more the intensity of the parent using spankings as a correctional way to the child, the worse the behavior of the child gets (Grogan-Kaylor, et al. 2020). Spanking is not as productive as people take it to be. Therefore, a study showed that the majority of the children with the best behaviors had zero abuse from the guardians regarding being spank. On the contrary, the children who are spanked once or twice a week are more prone to engage in mischief (Grogan-Kaylor, et al. 2020).

Additionally, it is proved that the rates of lying, cheating, bullying, and cruelty to peers was higher among the children who are spanked (Grogan-Kaylor, et al. 2020). It is evident that the idea of spanking children only takes care of the problem for the time being. Then afterward, the behaviors prevail (Grogan-Kaylor, et al. 2020).

Spankings should be elevated from society because, when the children can understand the consequences of their actions, the frequent spanking will lead to humiliation and also may cause trauma (Gershoff, et al. 2016). However, many parents think that spanking will help solve the issue that comes with their children growing.

Theory

Classical conditioning We covered a chapter with Conditioning Theory but don’t recall classical conditioning? is a learning process that involves association when two stimuli are repeatedly paired, and Pavlov invented the idea (Adler, Mueller, & Laufer, 2007). This process involves bi stimuli that are connected to give a new educated response in a human or an animal. In this discussion, this theory is used to show how children are modeled to have various attitudes and behaviors. In classical conditioning that everything from the speech to emotional responses is patterns of stimuli reaction. According to Watson, he had a belief that every personal contrast in their behaviors is because of the varied experiences that are in getting more information (Lee, J, et al. 2020).

Classical conditioning has been proved to apply to animals by the use of the little Albert experiment. In the experiment, it was shown that the specimen under investigation a small child called little Albert, who was aged nine months, was put under test to different stimuli. Little Albert was shown a rabbit, a monkey, and several masks. He showed no fear for the three stimuli (Gershoff, et al. 2016). In comparison to the experiment in our society, the children, when growing up, need to experience varied environments to gauge their behaviors; therefore, know if to spank them will have many positive effects on the way that they grow up. In Albert, experiment findings showed that the small kid was afraid of a hummer being struck against a steel bar behind his head. With time the child was exposed to the same experiment, and the results were changing. At the age of 11months, when he saw the rat, he would cave-in fear and start to shed tears (Gershoff, et al. 2016).

Classical conditioning theory has emphasized the importance of learning from the surrounding. The main idea in this theory is that the behavior that human portrays is a result of interaction between nature and the environment. The ability to break the behavior that is shown by the human into smaller segments means that these can be observed, and the findings recorded (Gershoff, et al. 2016).

Methodology primary data methodology out of order

If I have the opportunity, I will apply the use of a survey method to compile and combine information to make the best conclusions regarding the anti-spanking laws. A survey can be defined as the systematic collection of respondents’ answers to questions asked in questionnaires or interview (Adler, Mueller, & Laufer, 2007). The types of surveys that I would use to gather the data are the questionnaires and the use of interviews. The interviews will be done between the researchers and the parenting groups within society. Also, some of the youngsters would be in the gathering of the information. This will be done to avoid the presence of any bias in the study results that will be obtained after doing the surveys. Some of the questions that the research will have in the questionnaires include, why should children be spanked when they make a mistake? How often should children be spanked? What are the effects of spankings a young one? Is spanking healthy for the youngsters? The study will be administered to 100 families who have young children between the ages of 4-10 years. The research will include the data collectors visiting the parents in their homes and also at their workplaces and shopping malls and supermarkets.

Findings and discussion

Conclusion

Spanking is not the solution to having the best children in terms of their morals. It is paramount to know how to bring up the young generation by not necessarily spanking them. However, knowing when to punish a child will come in handy in the correction of behaviors. Also, there is a problem in which children are being spanked all the time. This will not solve any issue; instead, it may worsen the situation. Therefore, knowing that the child has made a mistake that deserves to be spanked is crucial. Small mistakes should not be a cause for the child to be spanked. Also, the idea of spanking a child repeatedly will not help in getting a solution.
